After Kevin Smith's breakthrough movie "Clerks" was well respected by audiences and winner of the 1994 Cannes Film Festival. We see another installment from him, this time in color, and subtracting the "Clerks" we all grew to know. The film is about T.S. (Jeremy London) a regular guy hoping to vacation to Universal Studios Florida with his girlfriend Brandi (Claire Forlani) as well as propose to her. She says she is helping her dad with a game show and can't make it. T.S. has no choice but to go to his best friend Brodie, a comic book worshiping, slacker who has well gets dumped by his girlfriend, Rene (Shannen Doherty). The duo are clueless what to do, till they head to local mall to find connection with another girl. They loiter and make trips to the food court for hours till they decide to sabotage Brandi's dad's game show with the help of the local stoner duo Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Director Kevin Smith). The movie has a number of funny cameos like, my favorite, Ethan Suplee who is trying to find the hidden sail boat in a picture at the mall. He stands there for hours trying to point it out, while everyone points it out in a matter of seconds. The sad thing is this is one of Kevin Smith's least recognized movies, and probably worst reviews one. I however, think the movie is one of the best Kevin Smith movies, and goes on "My Top 20 Favorite Movie List". If your a fan of funny dialogue, check this out, if you a fan of Kevin Smith, check this out, if your an uptight CEO harassing your employees...skip it.

This is the prototypical example of a film's trailer being FAR better than the film itself. In fact, if you've seen the trailer, don't bother watching the movie at all. It deserves no more of a person's time than a cliffs notes, abbreviated recap. The entire running time feels like a failed pilot episode to what would make a bad sit-com. Barely a chuckle in sight, nothing particularly funny or rememberable at all with even Mila Kunis' amazing beauty wasted and held in check. The most unremarkable film of the year that really can't even be labeled as a comedy.

The intrigue, conspiracy and drama present in this movie are off the charts. It's truly an intelligent film that captivates from start to finish. I didn't particularly like the final twist but it all makes sense. On a structural note, I find it ironic that the crusading media is portrayed as the constant moral compass and is the hero of the film when, in real life, journalism is now all about the presentation of different levels of liberal falsities. As for the performances, Russell Crowe and the ENTIRE cast are simply superb... everyone is top level talent on the top of their game. I can't remember a recent movie where the supporting players are this good. Jason Bateman, Jeff Daniels and even Helen Mirren have very small roles but all have a huge impact on the film. Affleck and McAdams do a great job as well.

This was better than Clerks I. When is the third one coming?

This is a total waste of time. I seen the previews and thought this would be good and when I saw it,I almost fell asleep.

Boy what a cast of weirdos. If you like guns then this film is for you. Theres lots of people getting shot, people shooting at stuff, and the obligatory nudity, drugs etc. I felt like this movie could of been so much more. It was hard to follow and I had to watch it a few times to understand it better.
