Country-girl, Gugino meets rock 'n' roller, surfer-dude (comedian Pauly Shore) while attending college in California; they fall in love (for reasons that remain a mystery to the audience) and she brings him back to the farm to meet his future in-laws. Shore spends most of the film's running-time making animal noises and pronouncing words in a unconventional manner because the writers couldn't be bothered to come up with any real jokes.
Two brain-dead slackers (Shore and #!@%*#) join the army in a dire effort to obtain military benefits and find themselves on the front lines in the conflict between the northern African countries of Chad and Libya. Kind of a throwback to the old "goofballs-bumble-their-way-though-basic-training-yet they- inexplicably-end up-becoming heroes" comedies of the 1940's. Non of the gags are particularly clever, but it could pass as harmless fun for kids.
