Go Back and Watch Again.

If you don't get it, you aren't watching close enough. Excellent piece dealing with deeper layers of reality. Funny too. Not everything needs to be watered down for every audience. The Retriever is completely off on this one.

One of Dustin Hoffman's best movies

The combination of Dustin Hoffman as a middle aged American commercial jingle writer and Emma Thompson as a lonely British statistician in her late 40s are what makes Last Chance Harvey the masterpiece it is. DON'T MISS IT!

A good movie, but not one of Hoffman's best

For an Oscar winning moving,Kramer vs.Kramer is not bad at all. However, for moving starring Dustin Hoffman,it's not the masterpiece Last Chance Harvey is. But I do recommend it.

Neither one of Dustin Hoffman's nor Natalie Portman's best movies

This is neither one of Dustin Hoffman's nor Natalie Portman's best movies. Dustin Hoffman doesn't play the snappy way he usually does, and Natalie Portman is too sweet. DON'T SEE IT!

The Best of DreamWorks

Yes, I'd even take it over the first 'Shrek'. Fun, funny and frenetic, with beautiful and unique animation, 'Kung Fu Panda' still doesn't hold a candle to the very best of Pixar ('WALL·E' so trounces this movie), but of the slew of CGI movies we've seen this millennium, 'Kung Fu Panda' is one of the better ones.

The Graduate

The tone of the film becomes more and more nightmarish toward the end. The psychology of the characters breaks down into more primal urges. It becomes clearer and clearer that the two younger characters are breaking free of the societal, familial bondage that they are in. The further they get from the center of their proscribed roles, the more intense the film becomes. In the final scene, it is not clear what they are breaking free TO so much as what they have broken free from. She looks at him in the back of the bus. He does not return her gaze. They both end up looking ahead in silence. Perhaps they are not even sure of their immediate destination. The bus will take them to where the route proscribes. It is a yellow school bus. Perhaps they are wealthy enough that they have never ridden in a school bus.

Never again

If you want me to have a breakdown, force me to watch the dental scene from this movie. It gave me nightmares for months. Because of that one scene, I could never watch this movie again and I would not recommend it....or at least fast-forward through that torture scene.

Better than that

The Hound is way too severe on this one. James Cameron could've done this better, but the premise works and the ending is way more believable than "The Abyss." And I didn't find any "existential ramblings": a few plot-related reflections, amateurish maybe, but what you'd expect from light fare. Thrills and chills, good effects: two and a half bones minimum.

Hero

Hero is the epinamy of what happen when you let your pride get in the way. The main character faces major complications to attain the huge cash amount he deserves, during his journey he realizes (and others around him) that we isn't the person he thought he was.

Predictable, but pretty

There are many things you can do to bring a toy store to life, and this movie did it well. There wasn't too much of a plot going on, and no big surprises. My 7-year-old niece loved it.
