The Other Guys is a great movie. However, for a detective movie,it more resembles the TV police reality show COPS rather than most other detective movies or a TV mystery series. See it at your own risk.

The last made film of the legendary Star Wars brings great hopes, that will be full filled. Don't forget to take some ice cream or popcorn, because once you start watching there's no stopping. Prepare yourself for a film of an epic battle between good and evil.

An Instant Classic
Reviewed by movieman444 for Pulp Fiction at 2010-01-14 13:07:51
Quentin Tarantino is a director that has changed how movies were made. Pulp Fiction is a movie that is one-of-a-kind in its time. The eccentric storytelling (using a non-linear storyline), the unbelievable acting by John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis and the ironic mix of humor and violence make this movie a classic. I recommend this movie to anyone!!

Gung #!@%*#
Reviewed by Moviejunkie for Inglourious Basterds at 2009-12-17 09:15:27
The movie business has never quite been the same since that former video-clerk geek and genre-loving movie maven Quentin Tarantino exploded on the scene with Reservoir Dogs. If you go strictly by the coming attractions, Inglourious Basterds might confound your expectations. Yes, Brad Pitt leads a group of Jewish soldiers who murder and scalp Nazis all over France. However, the actual graphic Nazi-killing is just the first chapter to a more conventional WWII espionage thriller. Tarantino presents a rollicking, wish-fulfillment revenge fantasy about getting Hitler that is presented with a graphic novel ambiance punctuated with moments of brilliant and far-from-cartoonish tension. The latter is most gloriously on display when Tarantino presents a bar rendezvous with three of the Basterds, the spy and a bunch of German soldiers. This is the moment when Tarantino presents one of his genre favorites, the ?Mexican standoff.? Did I mention that this movie is often hilarious? The Nazi killing scenes are designed to make you laugh and turn your head away cringing at the same time. In Tarantino terms, this movie is restrained; it hits us with the bloodletting and head bashing in small doses. It is the story, the development of the characters and the quality of the dialogue that makes Inglourious Basterds a wonderfully intriguing cinematic adventure. The most accomplished acting emanates from the urbane matter-of-fact evil presented by the amazing Waltz.

Can you say Suspenseful?

Tarantino has done a brilliant job of crafting one of the most suspenseful movies I have ever seen. I love how pieces of the puzzle throughout come together in different sequences ultimately leaving you with a feeling that everything is complete in the end. This is definitely a movie worth watching again and again. All thumbs up!!!

MASTERFUL
Reviewed by yellowjacket for Iron Man at 2009-09-17 00:30:50
It doesn't just manage to deliver a little bit of everything but it does it with style and integrity. Iron Man is a film everyone can enjoy because it cares enough to deliver excellence on every front. The mega talented cast fit each main character perfectly and the story itself is told in a masterful, crisp manner. The dialogue is witty and what humor there is works its way seamlessly in to the natural order of the story. A couple of comic book style slugfests are included but inserted only as a vehicle for the story. Things aren't blown up just for the sake of seeing them go boom. What makes Iron Man a true rarity is that it's a fine film for kids but it's even greater if you're an intelligent adult. How many movies can you say that about? This is truly movie making of the most entertaining order and it easily deserves all the praise it has generated both from fans and critics alike.

Interesting Yet Long Winded
Reviewed by yellowjacket for Inglourious Basterds at 2009-09-17 00:21:38
A long-winded and cartoony yet very compelling film. Some chapters felt plodding and maybe too dialogue laced but I was never bored. Tarantino certainly re-writes history and takes many shortcuts through reality but he does it with flare. This is a hard movie to define or summarize but I'd call it an interesting experimental cross between Pulp Fiction, The Diary of Ann Frank and some depraved Looney Tunes.

The One that Jumps
Reviewed by www.BraidedThreads.blogspot.com for Jumper at 2008-08-28 12:23:05
In order to be really special, you need to have super powers. Everyone else in the world is a chump. Just ask Hayden C - or any of the characters he's ever played. But according to this movie, if you become too special, people will want to kill you. This action film is diverting enough. The overly produced jumping effects create a bit more confusion than they need to. I spent most of the action sequences trying to figure out what just happened - I gave up on trying to figure out what was happening while it was happening. There is some fun in there. I see potential for a Jumper television series. Not a series I would want to watch, but the mythology of this story leaves room for more exploration. It is only a matter of time... and space... or both... or something.

Better than that
Reviewed by shanahan for Sphere at 2008-06-08 06:03:28
The Hound is way too severe on this one. James Cameron could've done this better, but the premise works and the ending is way more believable than "The Abyss." And I didn't find any "existential ramblings": a few plot-related reflections, amateurish maybe, but what you'd expect from light fare. Thrills and chills, good effects: two and a half bones minimum.

The main reason I enjoyed this movie was to see the birth of Darth Vader. Again the choice of Hayden Christensen as the role of Anakin was not much to be enjoyed. Overall the movie was better than Ep1 and 2 and gave a convincing tie to the Classic Trilogy.

I would change One item... Hayden Christensen

SWAoTC was a good movie. Much better than SWPM. I enjoyed it again, because of the back story of much loved characters. It is not as good as the Classic Trilogy, but a True Lucas/Star Wars fan should not discount the film entirely. Hayden Christensen is the absolute worst choice for Anakin Skywalker. Its sad Mr. Christensen is a pretty bad actor, even in other roles (the 2008 Jumper). I wish someone would invent a time machine, and go back and convince Lucas to recast Anakin. Oh well. :D

Fan verions are better
Reviewed by lrademac07 for Star Wars: Episode 1--The Phantom Menace at 2008-04-14 13:42:19
I've seen many Fan versions of SWI and they are better than Lucas' version. I liked the movie as it gives good back story to many characters that I loved in the Classic Trilogy. Jar Jar is not as bad as some people suggest, the voice is terrible, but the character is annoying at worst. I hope some one will do a Re-imagining of SWI someday.
