All the purists go for the original, and I can respect that..but for me this was the one to watch-- had the classic lines, the very cool villian (and his dopey sidekick), they gave Moranis more to do (Granted he was much more amusing to watch as Vince the dog), and it was cool to see the progression of these guys after saving the city and getting blacklisted as frauds.
Aykroyd,Murray,Ramis--all in their prime at this point.
Great flick.
Underrated gem

OK, not all of the scenes work, but you have to give it to Spielberg. He really, really wants this movie to be funny. Like REALLY. The movie is literally dripping with ambition, so you have to give it credit for that.
Cats and dogs, living together, mass hysteria!

Might be the most quotable movies ever. This movie took the summer special effects blockbuster and showed what would happen if you put in into the hands of the smartest comedy writers in town. Total classic.
