Barbra was really funny and her voice is just so cool to listen to. It has so much power. I liked the first half of the movie when it was climbing but once things settled for fanny i got board. I would still say it was great though.

Bette steals the show as the willful heroine. When she pushes too far and is turned on by her social class, her fiance, Henry Fonda, breaks the engagement and goes to work in the North. Torn by regret Bette languishes on the family plantation until disease requires her to open her home to the very people who deserted her earlier. Among them is the ex-fiance and his northern wife. More conflict ensues and Bette becomes more and more distraught. How will she regain her dignity?? I really love this movie. I think Bette won an oscar for her performance, I know she was nominated.

If your an Audrey fan like me you will like this movie. The leads in this movie work very well togther and there "thing" together is believable. The story is laughably ironic.

This movie was really cool because it showed you the realaties a man coming back from the war would have to face. The good and bad. We sometimes focuss on just the good of seeing your family finally but what about those guys who had family that didnt want to see them???
