Being a HUGE fan of harry potter myself I have been looking forward to the double movie finale for a long time. I went to see this film on the day it came out and I was very excited. I was desperately hoping it would be equally as good as the others, and luckily it completely succeeded with no doubt. I'm going to keep this short but all in all I love this film and I can't wait for the next instalment.
Tim Burton always knows how to create colorful, interesting universes to populate his characters, and this is no exception. However, this time he delivers less than a masterpiece. The characters are zany but many without purpose, and the continuation concept is clever but unnecessary. In this case, it may have been preferable for Burton to just re-adapt the book.
Dont waste your time. I sure did. You will laugh at me for this but I tried to watch it THREE times and failed every time.I couldnt make myself do it. It is my top most hated film and I think someone should warn you before you make a mistake.
If there were a category or subgenre for life affirming movies, this one would be at the top of my list. Tells the story of loss and grief and what it might "really" be like if we could get our loved-ones back after death. Juliet Stevenson and Alan Rickman give fine, believable performances. Sad, funny, and just plain wonderful.
