the trilogy moves my soul. i can watch them over and over and over again. Brando starts sexy, Pacino continues sexy, & Garcia erupts sexy. hope there is no continuance. to do so would sully the story.

Watch this movie for the dance scene if for no other reason. It has the best dance scene next to a John Travolta disco that I've ever enjoyed. Dancing With the Stars!!! very romantic

Spooky and fun

Al Pacino has a ball playing his evil character in this movie, but kudos to Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron for delivering convincing performances in this genre offering. Some neat effects and dark atmosphere provide sufficient chills.

Insomnia

'Insomnia' may be the least impressive of director Christopher Nolan's films (admittedly, I haven't seen his debut film, 'Following'), but the fact that it is directed by Nolan means that it is still a minor masterpiece. With the exception of 'The Dark Knight', it is the most straightforward Nolan film, with the most linear storytelling. It's a much more standard thriller than 'Memento', but it is beautifully shot and tautly told by Nolan. To date, this may be the last truly great performance that Al Pacino has given. And Robin Williams is also almost unexpectedly excellent; with the one-two punch of 'Insomnia' and 'One Hour Photo', he certainly cornered the market on "creepy". I can't wait to see Williams walk on the dark side again.

The Greatest of All Time

Muhammed Ali in boxing. Wayne Gretzky in Hockey. Michael Jordan in Basketball. The Godfather in Movies. All of the above are the undisputed best ever in their fields. This film is the greatest of all time. Without a shadow of a doubt.

Stunningly underrated film

Come on Hound! This is a fabulously funny, then poignantly tragic (but not without a final smile) piece of work. Pacino is incredible and acting completely out of character, and Hackman does his Hackman thing better than anywhere else. Studio politics kept this from being distributed properly, and that's one of the untold tragedies of Hollywood. Pacino and Hackman are as good as Redford and Newman - better in certain respects. Four bones plus a kibble treat.

This was really fun to watch. No work of art, but neither was the original.
