Why call this mess Alice in Wonderland when it is, in fact, a sequel?

Overrrated mess. Ruffalo looks like they had to wake him up during the movie, benning is as ugly as a dead groundhog, and Moore is annoying as hell.

Many people did not get to see this in theaters, but it is worth checking out on DVD. Hal Holbrook gives a standout performance as an elderly man unwilling to give up the property he once owned, and wages a showdown with the current occupants.

Tim Burton always knows how to create colorful, interesting universes to populate his characters, and this is no exception. However, this time he delivers less than a masterpiece. The characters are zany but many without purpose, and the continuation concept is clever but unnecessary. In this case, it may have been preferable for Burton to just re-adapt the book.

Defiance is a good movie bordering on great. Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber give stirring performances. The only thing keeping this movie from greatness is allowing the audience time to get to understand what makes these characters tick.
