One of the Hound's favorite tinseltown traditions took place on January 21 (the day before the Oscars noms were announced), the unveiling of this year's Golden Raspberry nominations. The Razzies celebrate Hollywood's worst, presenting annual "Dis-Honors for Worst Achievements in Film." It's an award show that recognizes unheralded gems like Showgirls, Catwoman, and the oeuvre of Uwe Boll, so it's hard not to love the pure schauenfreude of the whole affair.

This year, the Razzies took particular aim at Eddie Murphy and Lindsay Lohan, but come on, those are pretty easy targets. Why is there no recognition for Brett Ratner, whose Rush Hour 3 was not only one of the worst things ever set to celluloid, but also marked Ratner's THIRD time ruining the third chapter of a popular film series? (Red Dragon and X-Men: Last Stand were the first two, if you're keeping score at home.) Why didn't the Razzies go after some less obvious cinematic abominations, like Brian De Palma's Redacted, a trite snoozer wrapped in a smug sense of Iraq War self-importance? That movie, brought to us by the director of Mission to Mars and Snake Eyes, makes us think that the terrorists may have already won.

Ah well, there's no pleasing some people. The Razzie nominations are below.
