King Kong?

Tuco at Dec 18 2008 21:59:36
Jackson's King Kong could fit comfortably in either category, bearing many of the characteristics - good and bad - typical of remakes. I often use it as an example to rant about Hollywood's obsession with special effects over good story-telling.

Acually Carpenter didn't add shapeshifting. The original short story the film was based on was changed for the older version because they didn't have effects capable of producing it. He just returned to the original short story fro the remake.

I absolutely agree with your reviews on the remakes that suck and the ones that don't suck I personally hate remakes if the original was a classic and they rarely live up to the former. I heard they were going to remake Casablanca which if that is true that would be ridiculous. You can't remake a classic like that and I wouldn't even see it if they did. But I do agree with the remakes that really worked especially the magnificent seven and the fly, very good reviews thank you
